Man charged with DWI after crashing into Carrollton police cars

A Carrollton, Texas man was arrested early Sunday morning after crashing his his vehicle into two Carrollton, Texas squad cars, the Carrollton, Texas police said.

The driver of the vehicle was identified in the Dallas Morning News as 30-year-old Wesley Aaron Tyree. Police said that Tyree was employed by Lakeview Centennial High School which is in the Garland Independent School District. According to the School District web site, Tyree is the color guard director and in the fine arts department.

“We are counting our blessings today. Our officers were working a prior crash on northbound I-35 this morning when A DWI suspect hit two of our squad cars at approximately 70 mph, the Carrollton, Police said.

Authorities said that officers were not hurt. Police said that Tyree was injured and taken to the hospital. Afterwards police said that Tyree was booked into the Dallas County jail and charged with DWI.
“If you drink, don’t drive.  It should be that simple, the Carrollton Police said.
