Addison Announces Shannon Hicks is New Director of Public Works and Engineering Services

This week, Addison City Manager Wes Pierson announced the appointment of Shannon Hicks to serve as Addison’s new Director of Public Works and Engineering Services, the Town of Addison said.

The Town of Addison said that Shannon is currently the Director of Public Works/City Engineer for the City of Webster, Texas, and will assume his role in Addison on March 2. With help from Strategic Government Resources, Addison conducted a national search to fill the position.

City Manager said he’s pleased Shannon is joining his team

“We are pleased that Shannon will be joining our team,” said Addison City Manager Wes Pierson. “His proven track record of providing quality services in both the public and private sector will be assets not only to our staff, but to the entire Addison community.”

As the Director of Public Works/City Engineer in Webster, Shannon oversaw all design and capital projects for the city, developed and managed budgets, and worked closely with staff, outside governmental agencies, and private developers to create creative solutions to meet the needs of all parties. Prior to joining Webster, he served as the Assistant City Engineer for Deer Park. He also worked as an operations manager at Garver Construction in Houston,Texas; a site manager for Kellogg Brown & Root in Baghdad, Iraq; and a project manager for Jones Bros., Inc. in Nashville, Tennessee, the Town of Addison said.

Shannon said he’s honored

“I am deeply honored to have been selected,” shared Shannon. “I look forward to supporting the amazing staff to continue to deliver outstanding service to the community”, Shannon told the Town of Addison.
