The 2013 Comprehensive Plan called for a number of special area studies including one focused on the former Sam’s Club tract and adjoining properties on the south side of Belt Line Road and west of Midway Road, the town of Addison said.
This 50-acre area includes 11 properties whose current uses include retail, restaurant, office, and hotel.
Findings were presented at the council meeting
The findings of the study were presented to the Council in December 2014 and again in March 2015. At the time, the City Council only provided direction on the portion of the study area that was related to the former Sam’s Club property.
During a November 28 work session, Assistant Director of Development Services Charles Goff updated Council on the findings and the Council discussed next steps. You can read the presentation here or watch the conversation here.
